Venus Volcano (655 m)
An extinct Quaternary volcano is located above the town of Mezina, south of Bruntál. At the top is a flat crater and lateral craters with lava caves,
which consist of rusty-colored slag and volcanic sand that was weighed and used as building material in the past. Geologically, the volcano formed by rocks, largely basalt covered by volcanic ejecta, character tuffs and tuffs with the occurrence of so-called ”volcanic bombs“. Venus Volcano is well known for its minerals, as the basalt contains abundant amounts of green mineral olivine. From the top of Venus' north opens a beautiful view to the ridge of Jeseníky, then southeast through pastures and forests views of Big Roudný.
